Propeller Repair
Old West Marine Services is a member of the National Marine Propeller Association.
The Old West Marine Services propeller repair facility is the only one in Page supporting the Lake Powell visitor. It is equipped with state of the art welding equipment which is water cooled to allow high usage as customer demands are met.
We maintain a large inventory of new and used propellers focussed on the common sizes used at Lake Powell taking into account the 3700 foot (full pool) elevation of the lake.
We also have a large stock of used propellers that have been acquired over the years that are not suitable for this elevation. If you are at sea level we may have the propeller you are looking for at a bargain price. Give us a call!
Our highly trained technicians use state of the art pitch blocks to accurately and precisely straighten each blade of a propeller. Aluminum or stainless steel rod is then used to fill in any missing parts of each blade. Any extra metal is then carefully ground off leaving a complete and correctly profiled blade. The propeller is then balanced on our static balancer to ensure that all blades are the same size and weight. The propellers are then painted with a high gloss paint or polished to a mirror finish, either one resulting in a like-new finish. As a result, repaired propellers are returned to factory specifications.
As it is impossible to detect existing or latent defects in the used propellers that we repair, Old West Marine Services is NOT responsible for any damage incurred during the repair process.
Old West Marine Services can repair the following propellers:
Aluminum of any size currently manufactured
Stainless steel to 19 inches diameter
Bronze to 19 inches diameter.
