Mechanical Repair
The mechanical repair shop contains all the special tools needed to complete repairs on Mercruiser and Volvo engines. This includes the computer diagnostic equipment necessary to work on modern electronically controlled engine
The shop is equipped with four drive stands to properly support out drives during maintenance and repair. In addition there is a mobile stand that is used to remove out drives from the houseboat and safely transport them to the shop.
In the winter the shop is heated using an oil fired burner that uses recycled oil from oil changes. This avoids the need to charge an oil disposal fee to our customers and reduces our reliance on foreign oil.
Inventory is maintained in the shop organized by supplier and product. Each part number is tracked in our data base linked to our sales system with automatic reorder points generated to assure an appropriate level of inventory is maintained to support our customers.
Propeller Repair
The propeller repair shop has two separate areas. The main shop houses the pitch blocks and pitch stands, welding and paint booth. A dust containment area is used for wire brushing and grinding.
Propeller inventory is maintained separately from other inventory to facilitate speedy customer turn times on repairs and new propeller sales.
Dust and fume extraction is achieved using a centralized extraction system. Ducting is linked to the dust containment area, paint booth and welding bench.
Aluminum, stainless steel and bronze propellers can be repaired in this facility
